his is the best and right question you can ask during your
entire but limited life on earth. The following first three points
will direct you how to be saved in the Lord Jesus Christ. These points are
very important, and unless you do these first you cannot do the last three
points. The last three points are instructions for you to demonstrate your
obedience and love of the Lord Jesus Christ after you are
saved. Do you want to be
saved? You
must:
- ADMIT THAT YOU ARE A SINNER. "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of
God" (Romans
3:23).
- REPENT OF YOUR SINS.
"I tell you, Nay:
but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish"
(Luke 13:3, 5).
-
BELIEVE ON THE LORD JESUS
CHRIST.
"For God
so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting
life" (John
3:16).
You must sincerely confess to God you are a
sinner, you must repent of your sins, and you must believe on the Lord
Jesus Christ that He can save you from your sins like
this:
I know I am a
sinner and I deserve condemnation, but I do believe and
trust You, Lord Jesus Christ, that You died for me, that
You rose again, and that You can save me from my sins. I do
repent of my sins and receive You in my heart as my Saviour
and Lord. I do accept your gift of eternal life. In Jesus
Christ's name, I pray, Amen.
If you trusted the Lord Jesus Christ in the sincerity of
your heart, you are saved from this moment on.
"And I
give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither
shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave
them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of
my Father's hand" (John 10:28, 29). At this time, you need to obey the last three
points. However, I would just like to clarify that you are not
expected to obey the last three points if you have not trusted and
received the Lord Jesus Christ. The reason is, prayer, baptism,
church membership, or whatever is not the basis for any sinner to be
saved in Christ (Mark 16:16; Acts 4:10-12).
- OBEY
IN WATER BAPTISM.
"Then they that
gladly received his word were baptized..." (Acts 2:41).
- JOIN
IN A LOCAL NEW TESTAMENT CHURCH.
"...And the Lord
added to the church daily such as should be
saved" (Acts
2:47).
- LIVE
TO LEAD OTHERS TO CHRIST.
"Let your light so
shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father
which is in heaven" (Matthew
5:16).
I would be very glad if you
could let me know that you have trusted the Lord Jesus Christ by sending me an
email on pastor@mbbc.com.au.
